The Liebster Award

I was nominated for this by Becky’s Book Blog. Make sure you go to her site and give her lots of love!

The Liebster Award Rules:

  • Acknowledge the blog that gave it to you and display the award
  • Answer 11 questions that the blogger gives you
  • Give 11 random facts about yourself
  • Nominate 11 blogs and notify them of their nomination
  • Give these blogs 11 questions to answer

Let’s do this!

1: Favourite Movie/TV show based on a book?
-Game of Thrones. The TV-series is almost as epic as the books, and the writers and directors has only done necessary or non annoying changes.

2: What would be your spirit animal, and why?
-Cat. I’m independent, spoiled (by my fiancé) and will get random bursts of energy from nowhere. And that is just some of the traits that me and my cat Smokie share.

3: If you could live in any fictional world, which would you pick and why?
-I want to go to Hogwarts!!!(Yes, me too^^) And of all the worlds that I love, I would probably survive longest among wizards than other options.

4: If you could have any magical ability, what would it be?
-I usually avoid questions like this one, but here comes the mood killer. Healing. I’ve lost too many people I love to illness and I don’t want to lose anyone else. I hate having my biggest fear realised over and over again..

5: What was the first book you remember loving?
-The Darkangel by Meredith Ann Pierce. It’s still one of my favourites and really unique. Pierce has a very distinctive writing style and I’m hoping she’ll write something new one day.

6: If you could only recommend one book to everyone, what would it be?
-Hello Kitty Must Die by Angela S. Choi. It is my absolute favourite contemporary book!!! It is so funny, dark and twisted and I laugh out loud every time I read it. I have not come across anything like it before or since.

7: What are you reading right now?
-The Night Circus and Blood of Dragons. I have had a mountain of things to do for the last couple of days so I read TNC when I get an hour of peace and have BOD as an audiobook while I’m on the tube, cleaning etc.

8: What is your favourite mythical creature?
-Fey/fairies/goblins etc. Stories about them have fascinated me since I was a child and there’s still books being created with them that are fantastic! There’s so much creative writing one can do with the legends.

9: Favourite opening line/lines of a book.
-”Once upon a time..” That’s the only one I can think of, so I guess it’s my favourite?

10: Name something completely unrelated to books that you love.
-Planting and growing plants. I love it! Making something grow and live by my own hands is so rewarding. Every year I plant something new and tries my hardest to make it flourish. Mostly plants that does not grow in Sweden like lemon trees and passionfruit. The last thing I tried to plant was an acorn. I failed.. But I will trie again! I want a oak tree inside!

11: Who is you all time favourite author?
-There’s 4 of them. Robin Hobb, Sarah J Maas, JK Rowling and George RR Martin. There’s no way I could choose between them.

Here are my nominations. They’re all so good and I hope you’ll check them out and that they have fun with this tag!

2:When do you read?
3:Name your top 5 favourite standalone novels.
4:Do you write anything on your own? Poems, novels, fanfic etc?
5:Do you read multiple books at once?
6:Your favourite publisher?
7:What is a sure theme/element that makes you love a book?
8:You can save the life of one character from Harry Potter in exchange of another characters life. Who would you save/kill and why?
9:You have to destroy 3 books in your shelves, which ones?
10:Name your biggest bookish pet peeve.
11:One day the ghost of Albus Dumbledore visits you. What’s the first thing you’ll ask him?

That’s my 11 questions. This is my first time being nominated and I’m sooo happy!! It was a lot of fun answering and coming up with these questions and a great way to show appreciation for ones fellow bloggers!

  1. OMG thank you so much for nominating me!!! And such interesting questions!! I will definitely work on it! And love your answers btw. Yep, Hogwarts is the magical place to be hehe! Wow magical ability as healing. That’s actually a nice answer since that’s not typically the main answer people say. I would agree with that too but also in a mental and emotional aspect you know? To focus on positivity.

And I am currently reading the throne of glass series and yes, I will say that Sarah J. Maas is becoming one of my favorite authors! Others would be Marissa Meyer, J.K Rowling, and V.E Schwab. Awesome post! I can’t wait to start this! Thanks again! 🙂

  2. You’re very welcome!❤️
Some kind of power to sooth and mend the negative mental states people sometimes go through or have to live with would be incredible! I myself suffered from a depression that ended up in self harm during school, and the lack of help available when I asked for it was a joke! I had to basically save myself. (Maybe a bit TMI, but there it is🙄)

Sarah J Maas has that affect on many. I just went “WOW!!” from the beginning and now I read everything she publishes!
Hope you’ll have fun answering the questions!❤️

    1. Oh Gosh. That must have been a really hard time for you. I do agree that there needs to be more help available for people with mental illnesses and I hope the awareness grows and people take action to help others in the future.

You should be proud that you were able to overcome those difficult times.
That just shows how strong you are as a person ❤ Sending you positive vibes! ❤

Yep that's Sarah J. Maas haha! I already started drafting my post! I can't wait to share it! YAYYY 🙂

  3. Healer is definitely the power I would choose as well! I know how it is to be very sick myself, but it’s nearly equally bad to watch the ones you love suffer. Or so I think. I also love plants, but last year I made the mistake of trying to grow tomatoes in a very cold place in Norway and the summer just didn’t get hot enough, haha. I’m keeping to succulents and herbs for the time being.

    1. Did Norway have a that cold of a summer last year? Here in sweden it was so hot and no rain that we were forbidden any fires and it was the hottest summer in 260 years 😥

Just lost my dad to cancer, so I can strongly state that watching someone you love suffer is pure hell.

      1. I spent the summer more south where it was 30-40 celcius and I was certainly not used to that heat! But someone was babysitting the plants and I think they had hot weather as well, but like a week of it.

I’m sorry, that’s awful. It is pure hell. I’ve lost some people too, but mainly it’s my little brother who we were really worried about for a while.
