I chose to focus on books that are easy to get emerged in, not too emotionally draining and are pretty easy to finish in one day. And I have not sorted them in any particular order:
I just read caraval this weekend. And I just could not put it down! Devoured it in one day, never mind that the sun was shining. So perfect for a day when you don’t want to go out.
Hello Kitty Must Die
If you want to fight boredom and try something a bit different; This is the book! Dark humour that makes you laugh out loud, a really unique main character and I personally can’t put old down regardless of how many times I read it.
The Poison Eaters: And other stories
A collection of short stories from no other than Holly Black! When it comes to short stories I often feel that it’s really difficult to create rich and compelling ones. But this one is full of Hollys magic and is great for lovers of Tithe and Cruel Prince.
Quick paced angel-themed dystopia. It’s full of action, quick humour and overall a thrilling story. It’s one of those books that stays with you, and I long to have the time to read again soon.
I’ve been made aware of that many lovers of Cruel Prince/Wicked King have not read Tithe or any of the other books from the Modern Fairytale series. So I would love if people read them on a rainy day. They are fantastic!
An Enchantment of Ravens
Easy to read, a bit of a basic storyline.. But I laughed so much when I read it! Sometimes you just need a good laugh in a whimsical-ish environment.
There’s so much to love about Crice! I don’t even know where to start to try and sell this book to you. Mythology, you never know what will happen and overall just a beautiful and really well written story.
A crown of Wishes
I know this is the second book.. But I read it first and it did not ruin anything. I love Roshani Chokshi’s lush writing and this adventure was just unputdownable.
This book is extremely close to my heart! It was the first fantasy book I ever read and has in many ways created this bookish person that sits here today. Meredith Ann Pierce’s writing is so unique and dreamy. And the story is one that I can read over and over again.
If you stuck inside, why not spend it on an adventure stuck underground? Easy to read, easy to enjoy. And if you’re into brooding princes; Enjoy!
