The rules are simple:
- Jana assigns a new topic every Tuesday. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic, and putting your own spin on it if you like to.
- Everyone is free to join but please do link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own TTT post.
- Add your name to the Link widget on that days post so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
When I was planning this list I decided to limit myself to 1 quote per author, otherwise the list would be dominated by Robin Hobb and George RR Martin. I had to dig deep into my memory to get these!
Song of Ice and Fire; Game of Thrones
“Once you’ve accepted your flaws, no one can use them against you.”
“You are confusing plumbing and love again.”
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
“It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.”
Hello Kitty Must Die
“Bundy was right. All you have to do is comb your hair and wear a suit and you can be one crazy motherfucker. And get away with it.”
The Queen of the Tearling
“Memory cut infinitely deeper than swords;”
Queen of the Damned
“It’s an awful truth that suffering can deepen us, give a greater lustre to our colours, a richer resonance to our words. That is if it doesn’t destroy us.”
Throne of Glass
“Libraries were full of ideas—perhaps the most dangerous and powerful of all weapons.”
The Queens of Innis Lear
“Sometimes we forgive others because it keeps our own hearts whole, not because they deserve it or for any thought of them.”
A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo
“Stink bugs are temporary. Love is forever.”
“No one is truly honest. Even if we don’t lie to others, we often lie to ourselves. And the word good means different things to different people.”
