The Book of Magicโญโญโญ1/2 (Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans)

Hot on the heels of award-winning editor Gardner Dozois's acclaimed anthology โ€The Book of Swordsโ€ comes this companion volume devoted to magic. How could it be otherwise? For every Frodo, there is a Gandalf ... and a Saruman. For every Dorothy, a Glinda ... and a Wicked Witch of the West. What would Harry Potter be without Albus Dumbledore ... and Severus Snape? Figures of wisdom and power, possessing arcane, often forbidden knowledge, wizards and sorcerers are shaped โ€” or misshaped โ€” by the potent magic they seek to wield. Yet though their abilities may be godlike, these men and women remain human โ€” some might say all too human. Such is their curse. And their glory.

The Realm of the Elderlingsโญโญโญโญโญโญ (From the Queen of High Fantasy)

I have, after years of reading, finished The Realm of the Elderlings, and it has been the best journey ever! We all have given out 5 star ratings to books in our lives. But I think that we all have those books that are in a class of their own to each of us. So here Iโ€™ll do my first 6 star review, and it is for a whole series. Iโ€™ll try to keep it short and not drone on and on with this declaration off love for the books.

The Book of Swordsโญโญโญโญ (A Mixed Bag of Goodies)

Fire And Bloodโญโญโญโญโญ (A Giant Worth Conquering)

This book gives you the events of what happened from some time before Aegon the Conqueror came to Westeros, to the time of Aegon III. Some things are presented as clear facts and other speculations, but it still paints a clear picture of how and why things went down as they did. A lot of questions I had before have now been answered. Like why the Dragon population was so drastically diminished and how/why the Targaryen wedding customs between siblings was even accepted at all.
