A book that a certain friend always tells you to read:

Any book Neil Gaiman has written. He is one of my best friends favourite authors and she really want me to read one of the books. I actually own The Graveyard Book and American Gods, but never manage to start reading them.

A book that has been on your TBR forever, and yet you still haven’t picked it up:

Genji Monogatari (Tale of Genji). This book has been on my shelves for YEARS! I have such a hard time starting to read classics, especially if it is 1000 pages long, the text is tiny and it was published early 11th century. This is one scary book.

A book in a series you have started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing:

Crossed in the Matched series. The first book was ok, but I just can’t get past the first 2 chapters in the second one. And it does not help that I’ve been informed that this will be a slow journey..

A classic you have always liked the sound of, but never actually read:

Marry Shelly’s Frankenstein. I even have a gorgeous edition with steam-punk inspired illustrations. But I have not picked it up yet. I swear I will read it soon!

A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet:

The Magicians. The series is an obsession of mine at the moment! And the reason I have not read the books yet is simple; I’m afraid that by reading the books while the series is still ongoing, I’ll end up hating series. If I finish one before I start the other I won’t compare them as much and can therefore appreciate them separately. Does that make sense to anyone

A book you see all over Instagram, but haven’t picked up yet:

King of Scars. I probably should read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom first. And I will.. Someday.. I was not the biggest fan of the Grisha trilogy, and that is probably what’s stopping me.

  1. I like Gaiman’s writing, but it’s definitely an author that people have mixed opinions about. And waiting to read the Magicians makes total sense, I recently gave the TV series a second try and finished the first season but I just can’t get into the plotline 🙈 It has all the elements I should love, so I don’t get why. Also I DNFed the first grisha book and was hesitant to the Six of crows because of it, but everything about it was so different from the grisha and absolutely fantastic! One of my fav books!
