An East Asian fantasy reimagining of The Evil Queen legend about one peasant girl's quest to become Empress--and the darkness she must unleash to achieve her destiny.
The Cruel Prince⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2 (I love my parents murderer; I suppose I could love anyone)
Ok, I know it took me WAY to long to get here. But I have loved Holly Blacks books since I was 14 years old and read Tithe. And that made me a bit apprehensive about reading The Folk of the Air since it is from the same world. What if I would not like it and it would taint my love for the Modern Faerie Tales Series? But I finally took courage and read The Cruel Prince, and here’s what I thought:
Heat of the Night ⭐⭐⭐1/2 (If Quick Escalation is your thing)
This book is the sequel to Pleasures of the Night and is the second book of the Dream Guardians series by Sylvia Day. Before I even start the review I will say this, and I know I’ve said this before; Sylvia Day, you are so much better than this! Now this has gotten to a point where I will keep reading and reviewing her books so I can prove how great they can be. This is my new mission^^//Grimmsnaught
Star-Touched Stories⭐⭐⭐1/2 (Gauri is back!)
As always, Roshanis book is a work of art. I am in love with the magical world she has created. Even the darker parts of it I find dazzling. Sometimes I swear I can feel the texture of fabrics, tastes of fruits and the scent of night.
The Queens of Innis Lear⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (My heart is wrecked)
I honestly did not know this was a retelling and I have never read King Lear so I will not be commentating about it. But I will say that I’m now curious about King Lear because this book was wonderful! //Grimmsnaught
Pleasures of the Night ⭐⭐⭐ (Rethinking strange dreams now..)
Aidan Cross is a guardian of peoples dreams, meaning he enters peoples subconscious and lets them have a nice *cough* fantasy. And then he fights off nightmares, aka big scary actual monsters. He and other guardians does this from the dimension they’re in to keep our world safe. Then Lyssa appears, they can’t enter her dreams without invitation and she can see trough their illusions. This makes her dangerous, and Aidan is sent in to ”control” the situation. //Grimmsnaught

White Stag⭐⭐⭐1/2 (The king is dead! Let’s kill half the population)
This book is fast paced, uncomfortable, beautiful and brutal. Janneke has spent 100 years as a thrall in Permafrost, the land of the goblins, after her family was slaughtered and the lands burnt. She was first owned by the insane and torture friendly Lydian for a short time, who later passed her on to his nephew Soren where she has remained. When the Erlking dies the hunt, or slaughter fest, begins to find out who will become the new Erlking. The strongest will win and anyone is fair game. Now, let’s dig into it! //Grimmsnaught
